Parishioners, belonging to one or more of our liturgy groups, share in numerous ways in the celebration of Holy Mass and in leading special prayer groups.
A choir is formed for major feasts and parishioners are invited to join.
Eucharistic Ministers, appointed by the Parish Priest, assist at each mass and a monthly rota details all duties. This is available from the back of the church. Ministers also assist the Parish Priest in taking the Blessed Sacrament to the sick and housebound.
A group especially for young people of the parish is held in the church on Sundays at 7pm after Mass. A bible reading group, reflecting and praying the scriptures, meets on Thursdays at 2pm in the Rinkenbach room, attached to the hall.
Volunteers to read at Masses are always welcomed. Rotas are available at the back of the church.
Altar servers have a great responsibility in helping both the priest and congregation in worship. We always welcome new boys and girls to join the team of servers. Please speak to the Parish Priest if you would like to serve.
Children aged between three and six years gather in the Rinkenbach Room during the first part of the 9.30am Mass on Sunday. A team, including parents, read the relevant gospel stories, prepare the children for Mass and organise different activities. A group of older children aged six to eight years meet in the Church Hall. Prayer, singing and craft work combine in helping to focus on the day’s liturgy and in learning about the Church’s year. Children from both groups join their families and the rest of the congregation in church just before the Offertory Procession in which they all take part. On the first Sunday of the month we have a special children’s Mass when the older children are present for the whole service and the 3-5 year olds only go to the Rinkenbach Room for the first part of the service.
